Next to the Sierra de Tramontana mountain range is this spectacular house that tries to bring the Mediterranean character and spirit to mind.
Thinking of the whole project as one more element of the Mallorcan landscape, we opted for soft lines and colours in keeping with the island, but without failing to mark the strong personality of the Sierra to which it is attached.

Simple lines were the protagonists of this project in Mallorca. Avant-garde aesthetics, minimalist interior design and many details that make this house a very welcoming home. The maxim was to be able to take advantage of all the corners of the house and enjoy very open and wide spaces, leaving only the bedrooms as more private rooms.
The kitchen-living-dining room area is the cornerstone of this home. With a double space located in the living room area, a sensation of spaciousness and freedom has been generated within the house itself. With a height of more than 6 metres, this enormous living room seems to have no end, achieving a play of light that varies according to the time of day.
The exposed concrete staircase is the perfect setting for this marvellous living room.

The house was designed with a 3-storey layout, leaving the basement as a garage and occupying the ground and first floors as day and night areas. The exposed concrete staircase is responsible for linking the 3 floors not only practically but also aesthetically, as it was created to play a leading role and to be observed from any part of the house. To this end, the wall that awaits it became a huge glass so that the light could pass through it with total freedom.
On the island of Mallorca, summer lasts almost all year round and for this reason the outside is equally or more important than the inside, making its enjoyment permanent. The blue of the sky and the sea, and the greens of the Sierra, pour through the windows and intoxicate all the inhabitants of this home.
The garden and the swimming pool are an extension of the main living room of the house and the large balcony allows you to contemplate these unbeatable views.
Light, minimalist furniture also plays an important role in letting in light and avoiding saturation of the space.

Sa Tramontana has the highest energy rating (A). Good orientation, concrete structures, exterior carpentry with thermal bridge break and good insulation (passive system), as well as underfloor heating with an aerothermal system (active system), are the elements that help to achieve this energy excellence.
