Located in the coastal town of Sant Pol de Mar, this minimalist style house is the great dream that remained to be fulfilled by its owners. With straight lines and a marked interplay of volumes, a spectacular porch was added as a connecting element between the house and the swimming pool, creating a perfect harmony between the interior and the exterior.

The house was planned with an all ground floor design. The owners were looking for comfort and practicality above all else and were very clear that the space should be divided by zones and not by floors, with open spaces and plenty of light.
To achieve this, they opted for an L-shaped design and white tones for the exterior facades, thus achieving a strong contrast with the dark-coloured profiles. In the south-east part of the house, the kitchen, living room and dining room were integrated, optimising the space to generate a vision of spaciousness and achieve maximum sunlight and natural light.
The sleeping area is located in the south-west part of the house where the most special room is the master suite. The wildest views of the Maresme region can be appreciated without getting out of bed. Cup of coffee, croissant and pyjamas in bed is, since a few months ago, the favourite Sunday plan for the owners of Can Pol. In addition, the master bedroom has a large dressing room that acts as a link between the bedroom and the main bathroom. And it has direct access to the porch to continue enjoying the incredible views of the sea, the swimming pool and the garden.
The porch plays an important role in the project as the link between the night area and the day area.

One of the clients’ requirements was to be able to enjoy the tranquillity of the outdoors from any part of the house. Far from the noise of the capital of Barcelona, in Sant Pol they had come to seek peace and serenity and these attributes had to be felt both inside and outside the house.
To achieve this, a large window was proposed in the daytime area that would frame the entire exterior, providing a sense of freedom. Large additional windows were also placed in the rest of the walls so that this sensation would be maintained throughout the area.
The interior design of the house is minimalist, comfortable and practical. Neutral and soft tones predominate throughout the house and are combined with touches of colour that break with the apparent sobriety and give a personal and bohemian touch to the place, in accordance and in tune with the personality of the owners.
The owners of Can Pol were very clear that the interior should reflect their own personality.

Can Pol has the highest energy rating (A). Good orientation, concrete structures, exterior carpentry with thermal bridge break and good insulation (passive system), as well as underfloor heating with an aerothermal system (active system), are the elements that help to achieve this energy excellence.
